Found IT A/S is a newly founded company focusing on problems related to search.

We solve the problems using open source software — both with existing components, but also by developing new ones. We find search to be an exciting problem domain. It’s everywhere – from finding an email on your smartphone, to looking up a presentation in your company’s Intranet, to finding something on the Web.

However, search is often poorly implemented. We’re not talking about Google.com or Amazon.com here, but about that search box in the internal business application you use daily. Or your Intranet, your public facing website, and so on. Some times you even need to figure out which search box to use.

Many solutions to these problems already exist. However, they range from very expensive “enterprisey” packages, and blackbox appliances that are hard to customize — to build-your-own software components, which require siginificant expertise to use properly.

Here’s how we differ: We combine existing open source technologies into a complete search solution. The result is a product that is neither a black box, very expensive or completely build-your-own. It is a transparent, open source system — tailored to your specific needs, and professionally supported and maintained.
